Agriculture Scholarship in Hungary: 2023
The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) would like to invite eligible applicants who wish to further their studies and pursue careers in the identified scarce skills to apply for the Masters and Doctorate level-study offered by the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship. The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme was established by the Hungarian Government to promote the internationalisation of the Hungarian higher education and to attract top foreign students from all around the world who an establish personal and professional attachments to Hungary while enjoying high quality education in the heart of Europe.
Conditions of the Scholarship:
1. Eligibility criteria:
- South African citizens in good health
- Have a strong academic record: Postgraduate applications should have performed well in their previous studies with a minimum 65% average mark achieved in their previous studies
- An interest in studying in Hungary and demonstrated commitment to the development of South Africa
- Available and eligible to study in Hungary from September 2023
- Meet the entry criteria for their selected programmes in Hungary
- Meet the minimum academic requirement for entry into a similar programme at a South African university
2. Hungarian Government offers:
- Tuition fees
- Monthly stipend
- University accommodation or a contribution towards private accommodation
- Medical insurance
3. Fields of Study
Master's applicants must apply for a course on this list below to be considered for the scholarship for DALRRD:
- Agricultural Sciences
- Animal Husbandry Engineering
- Animal Nutrition and Food Safety
- Horticultural Engineering
- Agricultural Water Management Engineering
4. Application process
- Applicants are required to complete the online application on the Stipendium Hungaricum website by the deadline indicated and fulfil all requirements as stipulated: https://apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu/. Or http://studyinhungary.hu/
- In addition to the requirements indicated on the Stipendium Hungaricum website, South African applicants must upload documents as part of their online application
