Wesgro invites you to participate in a Trade & Investment Mission to Luanda
Dear Western Cape Exporter,
Please join Wesgro on a Trade & Investment Mission to Angola, 21 – 25 August 2023.
The mission forms part of Wesgro’s International Trade and Outward investment mission Programme for 2023/24 and will focus on exploring Trade and Partnership opportunities in Angola. The mission will be structured into networking sessions and B2B meetings arranged for delegates during the mission, in accordance with their areas of business.
Why Angola?
South Africa exported goods worth R5 billion to Angola in 2020. Angola ranked as South Africa’s 39th largest export market. Angola’s economy was estimated to have grown by 2.4 percent in 2022. Research indicates that there is an unexplored opportunity of R459 million for South African exporters. Angola is an important market for Western Cape exporters due to its proximity and the fact that it actively promotes trade and investment with companies from South Africa. Angola has become one of the largest exporters of petroleum in sub-Saharan Africa, and production has nearly tripled. Angola has some of the richest fishing grounds in Africa, especially along the far southern coast.
Interested in joining the mission?
Companies interested in this mission will need to cover flights and accommodation costs. Wesgro will cover the cost of local transportation, networking seminars, and B2B facilitation in Angola. Estimated costings are detailed below:

Criteria: To take part in the mission companies must be in operation for at least 2 years and be export ready
Deadline: Monday, 24th July 2023, COB.
