2. Corteva Bursary

Corteva Agriscience South Africa invites students to apply for bursary funding for the 2024 academic year for studies towards Agricultural qualifications (undergraduates or
postgraduate). Bursaries are awarded each year to full-time students.

The bursary will be a maximum value of R95,000 per annum for undergraduate students and
R125,000 for postgraduate students and should be used to pay for full tuition fees, textbooks,
accommodation including university accredited residence, and research costs. Bursaries will
be paid directly to the student’s tertiary institution account.
Shortlisted applicants will be notified of the outcome of their applications by no later than 31
August 2023. If you do not receive feedback, please regard your application as unsuccessful.

 ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CORTEVA BURSARY:

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that
failure to satisfy all the requirement will lead to your application not being considered):
• You must be a South African citizen
• You must be studying full-time at a recognized and accredited South African College,
University or University of Technology in South Africa
• You must be studying towards an Agricultural qualification. Preference will be given to
students pursuing studies in the AgriSETA Sectoral Priority Occupations List
• You must have completed your 1st year of study and be entering your 2nd or higher year
of study in 2024.
• You must be unemployed
• You must be in financial need
• You need to provide proof of parent or guardian’s income (latest payslip if
employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of grant or pension if applicable)
• You must have a strong academic record
• You must NOT be in receipt of any other bursary, scholarship, grant, or other
funding for 2024 (except NSFAS funding)
• You must be willing to engage in vacation work with Corteva
• You must be willing to sign a bursary agreement with Corteva

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE CORTEVA BURSARY:
Documents Required

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documents. Submission of these documents
are compulsory:
• Motivational letter
• Identity Document (certified copy – not older than six months)
• Proof of tertiary registration and fee statements (must be submitted on institution
letterhead)
• Tertiary academic records, including the most recent results (must be on institution
letterhead)
• Any other documentation that can support your application
Note: there is no application form to be completed for this bursary application – students
need only to submit the list of the above documents to apply Documents must be submitted in
pdf format.

3. DALRRD Bursary

AGRICULTURE, LAND REFORM AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT BURSARY AWARDS FOR 2024

The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) intends to award comprehensive bursaries to qualifying applicants pursuing and/or intending to further their studies in identified careers in the agriculture, land reform and rural development sector for the 2024 academic year. The bursary will cover tuition, accommodation, books, meals and monthly allowance. The bursary awards target the previously disadvantaged and impoverished persons from poverty-stricken and rural communities.

5. SANSOR BURSARY
SANSOR wants to help deserving post-graduate students by supporting them financially to obtain their post-graduate degrees (Honours, Masters and Doctorate) to enable them to contribute to the seed industry by doing high quality scientific research in the following areas: Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agronomy, Horticulture, Pasture Science, Biotechnology, Plant Physiology, Genetics and Molecular Plant Biology.
SANSOR’s bursary is open from the 1st of August and will close on the 30th September.
